Programming

I love learning new things, taking on new challenges and experimenting with the latest tools.
This is why I like programming and learning different programming languages.
I started learning ADA 95 and Huskell on my freshman year of Computer Science in Spain, and since then I've added to my list of languages: C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Perl, PLSQL, PHP and some others...
In my opinion, there is no BEST programming language, each one is good at some things and "not so good" at others, that is why having a more than one language to select from is an advantage. Depending on the type of task you want to use and the type of requirements needed for the work, you can select the best fit.

Web Design

I've been doing webpages for several years now, and even though all of them have been personal webpages, I have learned a lot from each one and it has helped see how the web has developed.
I started using plain HTML, then adding CSS to add style and be more consistent, then adding JavaScript to add either some effects or dynamic content, and finally using PHP to create trully dynamic content and database support. We cannot forget XHTML either, which ads an extra level of standarization and facilitates portability.
Right now, I am able to create complex websites using all the tools mentioned above, including AJAX. Some of my latests sites include my personal webpage (http://www.igc-web), although it is a very simple site, my software site, where you can download a media cataloguer, although it is focused on anime, it can be used for any type of media content (Anime List Builder), and finally, the most complext site, which uses the 4homepages backend but is filled with modules created by me using PHP. (the Anime Gallery).

In addition to the Web Programming skills using XHTML, CSS, XML, PHP, JavaScript and AJAX, I am also proficient in Flash and Paint Shop Pro, which help me improve the look-n-feel of the sites I create.

As a footnote, I would like to add, that everyone should use one of the browsers that support wc3 standards...
and by that I mean, FireFox, Opera or Konqueror.
Stop using Internet Explorer and make web designers' lifes easier.
